Cleveland vs Wall Street
The U.S. premiere of Cleveland vs Wall Street is almost here.
The film featuring Barbara Anderson and various ESOP staff members will have a preview screening at the Cleveland International Film Festival on Saturday, April 2nd at 4:00 p.m.
In the film, Swiss director Jean-Stephane Bron stages a mock trial in which Cleveland takes on 21 major investment banks accused of enabling subprime lending and creating the foreclosure crisis in the city. Barbara Anderson, former treasurer of Empowering and Strengthening Ohio’s People, makes an impassioned appearance and witnesses tells heart-wrenching stories of evictions and foreclosures.
According to the CIFF website tickets for Cleveland vs Wall Street are only available to members. However, ESOP staff and supporters will get to see the film at the official premiere on Tuesday, April 5th at the Capitol Theater in Cleveland. The screening begins at 7:00 p.m. Invited guests will get in for free and will be included in a private reception following the film. The remaining seats will be sold as a fundraiser with proceeds to benefit ESOP and a youth boxing club.
